FROM THE DESK OF

THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

Happy New Year! I hope that all of you received the midyear email that was sent out over the holidays recapping the beginning of the school year. It is hard to believe that half of the school year is over and it is now 2024. I pray that you and your families enjoyed some down time and were able to recharge to start the next half of the school year.

As a school, our number one priority is the faith formation of each of your daughters and the academic curriculum that we offer each day. According to the state and to the school policy, students are only allowed to miss so many instructional minutes. Beginning this semester, if your daughter is absent more than 5 days and does not have personal extenuated circumstances, (flu, Covid etc.), she will have to make up the time missed by staying Wednesday afternoons from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM until the time is made up. Each school day consists of 8 hours. Missed time will be made up hourly. Please know that work schedules will have to be adjusted if your daughter is required to make up time. It is imperative that for a student to be successful that she must be in school.

The attendance policy is attached for your convenience. Every parent and student signed off on this policy at the beginning of the school year.

Catholic education is very costly therefore sending your daughter to school is an investment in her future.

Remembering always Deus Providebit…..God Will Provide,

Connie L. Dantagnan

Bullying/Harassment Policy

Bullying is a distinctive pattern of repeatedly and deliberately harming and humiliating others and is characterized by a power imbalance between the two parties. Bullying includes, but is not limited to physical or verbal aggression, relational aggression, or emotional aggression (teasing, threatening, and intimidating others). Relational aggression (RA), is a form of indirect bullying that uses social relationships to manipulate or harm others, such as isolating a student

from her group of friends (social exclusion), threatening to stop talking to a

friend (the ''silent treatment''), or spreading gossip and rumors. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, slurs, jokes, comments, or other offensive conduct relating to race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic. Bullying, relational aggression (including cyber-bullying), and harassment will not be tolerated. Please use the forms below to report bullying.

"Our Lady of Prompt Succor, Hasten to Help Us" 🙏 We celebrated our final school Mass by honoring Our Blessed Mother at our annual May Crowning Mass. Our newly elected Student Council President, Sophie Panzavecchia, crowned Mary with flowers. New E-Board Vice President, Avery Schexnaydre, presented her with a bouquet. We also honored those who attended District and State Literary Rally, as well as the softball team for their State Championship win! In our daily prayers we ask for the Blessed Mother's guidance, in hopes that she will give us the wisdom to accept God's graces and assist us in our trials. #DeusProvidebit , God Will Provide!

Two Archbishop Chapelle High School students were presented the St. Timothy Award in April for their leadership, service and good moral standards exhibited through their work with church parishes and the archdiocesan community. The two Chapelle students are Abigail Fortado and Morgan Gaudet! Abigail Fortado, St. Catherine of Siena, Metairie: Abigail served on the Archbishop Chapelle campus ministry team. She is also a member of Teen CROSS and attended the March for Life in Washington, D.C. Her campus minister shared this about Abigail, “She is passionate about the Gospel and is quick to work to evangelize those around her...I see her go after the lost sheep, the outsiders, the lonely. She befriends them, meets them where they are and loves them there.” Morgan Gaudet, St. Benilde, Metairie: Morgan is a member of Teen Cross and serves as a board member for St. Benilde's youth ministry. She also served on teh Archbishop Chapelle campus ministry team. Her campus minister shared these words about Morgan, “The depth of Morgan's relationship with Jesus sets her apart...She has gone to a level of prayer, trust and confidence in God that I do not see in most high school students.”
