    • This course provides students with the opportunity to learn a variety of sports and sport related movements along with many lifelong leisure activities as well as learn health topics related to nutrition, emotional wellbeing, and physical wellness. Emphasis is placed on active participation and positive social interaction during fitness and sport activities.
  • Health and Physical Education I

    Health and Physical Education I

    9th-10th Grade

    Credit: 0.5

    • This semester course provides the opportunity for optimum mental, emotional, social and physical growth through physical activity. The course is designed so that each individual may gain increasing control over her own behavior and make satisfactory adjustments to an ever-changing society. Students are provided opportunities to become health conscious, efficient, well-coordinated individuals, possessing enough strength, agility, endurance and skill to easily meet the demands of work and recreation. 
  • Health and Physical Education II

    Health and Physical Education II

    11th-12th Grade

    Credit: 0.5

    • This semester course continues to provide the opportunity for optimum mental, emotional, social and physical growth through physical activity. This is an activity based course, with students required to participate in four individual or team sports throughout the semester. Students will gain an understanding of health issues critical to their well-being. This includes body functions in health and disease, ways of maintaining and improving one’s health, means of preventing disorders, understanding common diseases, and the importance of proper preventative and curative measures.
  • Advanced Health and Physical Education

    Advanced Health and Physical Education

    8th – 12th Grade

    Credit:  0.5

    • Advanced Physical Education is an interactive course that incorporates the five health-related components of fitness and other fitness concepts; anatomy and physiology; wellness; nutrition and many other topics that relate to healthy living.  This course is designed to enhance lifelong skills for physical fitness. It includes a mixture of physical activities along with tests, lessons and activities that will give the learner a strong basis for lifelong physical activity.  Students are expected to keep up an active schedule while in the class–for example, participating in their school or club sport, or pursuing physical activities that interest them.
