A Senior Night to Remember: Chips Sweep Cabrini! It was a night of celebration and a victory for Chapelle volleyball! The Chips defeated Cabrini in three straight sets on Senior Night, winning 25–8, 25–12, and 25–20. The win made a special evening even sweeter as Chapelle celebrated its seniors and recognized two impressive career milestones. Standout Performances The Chips delivered across the court, with these players leading the way: Aces: Aubrey Frey — 4 Blocks: Gianna DeLucca — 2; Silah-Michele Payre — 2 Assists: Julia Bruno — 16; Izzy Wilson — 14 Digs: Julia Williams — 15; Sydney Griener — 14 Kills: Victoria McCann — 16; Audrey Dubuc — 9 From strong serving to defensive stops and powerful finishes, the victory reflected contributions throughout the lineup. Celebrating Career Milestones Senior Night also included recognition of Victoria McCann for reaching 1,500 career kills and Audrey Dubuc for reaching 1,000 career kills! These milestones represent years of hard work, dedication, and contributions to Chapelle volleyball. Celebrating both achievements alongside a Senior Night sweep made the evening one to remember. Victoria McCann Named Best High School Volleyball Player in Louisiana by MaxPreps Archbishop Chapelle High School is proud to celebrate senior Victoria McCann ’27 on being named the Best High School Volleyball Player in the State of Louisiana by MaxPreps heading into the 2026 season. In its national feature, “High school volleyball: Best player in all 50 states heading into the 2026 season,” MaxPreps highlighted top volleyball players from across the country, recognizing one standout athlete from each state. Victoria was selected as Louisiana’s top player, an incredible honor that reflects her talent, dedication, and impact on the court. MaxPreps recognized Victoria, a 6-foot outside hitter, noting that she “heads into 2026 having surpassed the 1,000-kill mark for her career.” This milestone places her among an elite group of high school volleyball players and speaks to her consistency, work ethic, and leadership throughout her Chapelle career. For Victoria and the Archbishop Chapelle High School volleyball program, this recognition is a tremendous achievement. Being chosen as the top player in Louisiana by a national high school sports outlet is a testament not only to Victoria’s individual success, but also to the strength of Chapelle Athletics and the competitive spirit of our student-athletes. Victoria has been a powerful presence for the Chipmunks, leading by example through her athletic ability and commitment to her teammates. As she enters her senior season, she continues to represent Chapelle with excellence both on and off the court. VolleyChips Bring Home Big Wins and Big Memories The VolleyChips had an incredible week filled with volleyball, team building, and most importantly, FUN!  The team traveled to Alabama to compete in the McGill-Toolen Tournament and absolutely dominated the competition, returning home with an impressive 7–1 record. Facing talented teams from Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida, the intensity was high and the competition fierce. Our girls rose to the challenge and represented Chapelle with skill, heart, and determination. Fans who want to relive the action can catch the games on our Hudl Fan Page, where matches were streamed live for supporters to cheer them on from near and far. But the week was about more than volleyball. While away, the team focused on strengthening their bond off the court as well. The kitchen turned into a competition arena for Chippy’s Grocery Games, where players were challenged to create a taco night side dish with only $10 and 30 minutes to cook. The results were phenomenal. Cilantro Lime Rice, Watermelon Salsa, and Street Corn were all prepared by the VolleyChips in a fun and fast-paced showdown. The culinary creativity continued when the team made jambalaya together, each player assigned one specific role. There was the Voice, the only one allowed to read the recipe and give directions; the Hype Woman; the Shopper; the Chopper; the Opener; the Transferer; the Taster; the Pourer; and even a blindfolded Stirrer. It was teamwork at its finest and full of laughter. The fun also included an eight-game pickleball tournament where players rotated partners each round. Smiles and competitive spirit filled the courts. Congratulations to Lanie for earning the overall tournament win. This season, the VolleyChips are reading Soup by Jon Gordon to learn about the importance of teamwork and the idea that everyone has an impact. Everyone stirs the pot to success, and that was clearly on display through all their achievements this week, both on and off the court. If this week is any indication, it is going to be a special season for the VolleyChips.
