PATRONS
With deep roots tied to the history of New Orleans, Our Lady of Prompt Succor is perfect as a patroness of Archbishop Chapelle High School. Our Lady teaches us that we can always turn to her in times of need to lead us to her son, Jesus, and that he is all we will ever need. At the same time, Mary also gives herself to us our own spiritual mother! We pray for her intercession after every prayer at Archbishop Chapelle High School.
On campus, Our Lady of Prompt Succor is represented with a custom statue at the entrance of the Fine Arts Building.
Our Lady of Prompt Succor...Hasten to Help Us!
As a young girl, St. Joan of Arc had dedicated her life to having a relationship with Jesus. After having visions of St. Michael the Archangel, St. Catherine, and St. Margaret, St. Joan of Arc courageously helped the French Army in key battles during The Hundred Years War. Throughout her many trials, and eventual martyrdom, St. Joan of Arc’s courage and faith in Jesus never faltered. By having St. Joan of Arc as one of our patrons, we can continually ask for her intercession to pray for our students to have the same boldness and faith in Jesus, especially during their own trials. Her feast day is celebrated on May 30th, and she is the patron saint of those in need of courage, those ridiculed of faith, and the youth.
On campus, St. Joan of Arc is the namesake for the newly opened St. Joan of Arc (Academics, Research, and Collaboration) Center.
